Mango
Mango is a tropical fruit that is now grown in all tropical and subtropical regions. It originally comes from India and has spread from there. That is why we notice that mango is an important ingredient in both dinners and desserts in that area.
Since this is the most stereotypical tropical fruit of all tropical fruits, this became the main theme for this logo. I wanted to bring out the juicy taste of mango through soft shapes and refreshing colors.
Grapes
As many people know, grapes are one of the world's most consumed fruits. As much as 80% of grapes are used for creating wine. The fruit has also been enjoyed by humans for over 5,000 years. This makes creating a logo very difficult with the idea that the fruit also has a fairly simple and standard shape. One thing that distinguishes the plant from other fruit plants is that grapes grow on vines.
I have chosen to be inspired more by vines than the fruit itself. And since the fruit is still as popular as it has always been and probably always will be, the logo uses a rather modern and playful style. This shows that the fruit still has joy to give us, and is not going to die anytime soon.
Gooseberry
Gooseberries are originally from the western part of Africa. In the 17th century, the berry began to be cultivated in northern parts of Europe. In England in particular, this berry has left its mark. In some British folklore, it is believed that fairies are particularly fond of gooseberries. There are stories of mischievous fairies who guard gooseberry bushes and protect them from harm. It was thought that disturbing a gooseberry bush without proper respect could anger the fairies and bring bad luck.
I wanted to set up this logo with the idea that it could be on the cover of a book about old England folklore. I have therefore chosen to use a serif font combined with an older style font in the logo. The main color is yellow and green as the fruit originally started with these colours. Later it was developed into other colors such as red and purple.
Fig
The fig is one of the oldest fruits we can look back to that is still relatively similar in both appearance and taste. This fruit has history all the way back to being mentioned in the Old Testament. Now it is grown in Brazil and around the Mediterranean.
This is clearly a fruit with status. It has existed for so long without change. I tried to retell this status through a modern but large sans serif font. The icon is inspired by potato prints to hint at the time it is from.
Strawberry
The first garden strawberry was grown in Brittany, France, during the late 18th century. It is known to be consumed either fresh or used in foods such as jam, juice, ice cream, milkshakes, and chocolates.
On this identity, I have tried to bring out the old status of the berry. I have used a serif font which I have modified myself to fit the expression. Overall, the logo is meant to resemble the front of a jam jar.
